ABOUT ART THERAPY

Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy which uses imagery and the art making process as an important form of communication. There's no need to have prior experience or be 'good at art'.

Art making within sessions can instill agency, develop confidence and become a way to relate and explore emotions that may otherwise be difficult to reach. Art therapy aims to encourage self expression and help build and restore mental wellbeing.

Art therapists are HCPC registered and work with children and adults, individually, dyadically (parent/carer and child) or in groups.

MY PRACTICE

I'm based in Glasgow and have been practicing for several years now, working across a range of ages and client groups.

I've worked at the RHC (children's hospital) with young people with chronic conditions, as well as adolescents from the Teenage Cancer Trust, and have experience in palliative care.

I have worked extensively with young people in residential, kinship and foster care, and can provide additional carer support and attachment training where needed.

I offer private sessions and am also available to work with local authorities and independent organisations. Please contact me to discuss further.
